The University of Kentucky’s Adolescent Behavioral Unit renovation began with the relocation of the existing Adolescent Behavioral Health program from Good Samaritan Hospital to Chandler Hospital, enhancing alignment with services at the UK Children’s Hospital. The renovation caters to both Adolescent and Child populations, with separate units prioritizing privacy and personal space. Architectural design, furniture, and finishes were carefully selected to create a sense of safety. Each patient enjoys a dedicated space, incorporating belongings seamlessly. The project integrates features like music therapy and individually controlled lighting to enhance individualism. Graphic imagery adds art and color to support areas and patient rooms in a safe manner.
