Bowling Green Municipal Utilities (BGMU) was in need of a new corporate office building. Their existing facility was dated, no longer fit their needs, nor conveyed the image they wished to represent to their clients. Their new 32,550 square feet, two story replacement office building was constructed on the existing site and the adjacent original building was demolished. This new office building allowed BGMU to consolidate all of their administrative, accounting, customer service, dispatch, electrical, fiber network, and water technical staff within one common building. This facilitates communication between departments and coordination during disaster events. Seeking to set a good example and demonstrate responsible use of utility rate payers funds the project attained LEED Silver status.
